Clarification For The Community And Public Opinion

As a serious, responsible project committed to transparency and active engagement with our communities, with over 15 years of participation and work for the development of the area, Místico publicly reaffirms its total commitment to environmental protection. Recently, incorrect information has been spread about our project, claiming a destructive development in wetland areas of the Playa Hermosa - Punta Mala National Wildlife Refuge, and we must clarify that this is totally false.

Místico's commitment and responsibility to the community and the environment has been public, and it can be proven. We have participated in initiatives of great importance, such as the planting of more than 12,500 native trees, and the creation of 15 hectares of lake ecosystems, with plans to expand to another 60 hectares, in addition to the fact that more than 54% of the property is preserved as natural areas for the benefit of the Playa Hermosa - Punta Mala Wildlife Refuge.

Since we began our work, we have respected and protected the wetland areas indicated in the Pacífico Central Conservation Area (ACOPAC due to its initials in Spanish) permits, which delineate the property and designate the wetland area established by the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC due to its initials in Spanish). Therefore, we can affirm that no wetland areas are affected or destroyed.

It should be noted that the Playa Hermosa-Punta Mala Wildlife Refuge borders the mangrove, which in turn sustains wildlife and biodiversity at Místico. Therefore, we have created biological corridors in different areas of the project to provide biodiversity spaces, allowing the refuge's species to interact with the different surrounding forested areas. This initiative contributes to the wellbeing of people and the environment.

In consistent alignment with our commitment to the protection of biodiversity, Místico actively supports the initiatives of SINAC and ACOPAC aimed at safeguarding turtles; creating the conditions for the nesting of birds and sea turtles to ensure the undisturbed hatching of their offspring. In pursuit of this goal, we have established relationships with internationally recognized organizations capable of carrying out projects that will enrich the marine and continental biodiversity of our country and its wildlife. Furthermore, we must clarify that, at Místico, we do not interfere in matters concerning access and security within the Playa Hermosa - Punta Mala National Wildlife Refuge.

At Místico, we have demonstrated that we always develop our activities in favor of protecting the natural treasures of the area. We contribute, as part of the community, to improve living conditions, focusing on the importance of generating employment and opportunities for the communities of Playa Hermosa, Quebrada Amarilla and Jacó. Therefore, we will continue working with respect for the law, and with our commitment to generating sustainable development and welfare — in addition to the willingness and transparency to address any questions or requests for information.
